Shoutout to the guy at the hardware store who suggested a heat gun for that old varnish

I spent 4 hours scraping a single table leg before I gave up and tried his idea, it came off clean in about 20 minutes. Anyone have a better method for stubborn shellac?

I read that denatured alcohol works well on shellac, but I haven't tried it myself.

Denatured alcohol is the way to go for shellac. I used it on an old dresser and it just melted right off, no hard scraping at all.
