My neighbor said he charges a flat rate for small jobs now, not by the hour.
We were talking over the fence last week and he told me he switched after a client argued about a 2-hour invoice for a quick website fix. He said it stops the clock-watching and makes the value clear. Do you think flat rates work better for small freelance tasks, or does hourly still protect you?

Switched to flat rates for all my small jobs last year. Clients stop haggling over minutes and start seeing the finished work. Hourly just invites arguments over time you can't get back.
