Warning: The new sand binder at the Cedar Rapids plant clumps if your humidity is over 60%.

We had a whole batch of cores fail before the foreman checked the meter in the storage bay. Anyone else run into this with different suppliers?

Absolutely, we had the same thing happen last spring... switched to a new binder to save a few bucks and lost a whole day's pour. The stuff just turned to concrete in the hopper when our bay hit 65%. Had to go back to our old supplier.

Bought a generic brand of diesel exhaust fluid once to save twenty bucks and my pickup threw a CEL halfway through a job. Took three trips to the dealer and a whole tank flush before it ran right again. Some things just aren't worth pinching pennies on, you know?

Is that really a common problem? We've used stuff from a few places and never had a total batch fail. Maybe it was a one-off bad mix.
