Found my grandma's weird jello salad recipe from 1975

I was cleaning out a box in my mom's attic in Toledo last month and found a handwritten card for 'Lime Jello with Cottage Cheese and Pineapple Surprise' (the surprise is walnuts, I guess). She made it for every holiday when I was a kid, but it stopped showing up around 1990. I made it last week, step by step, and it was... a texture experience (you know, wobbly and lumpy). Has anyone else tried to bring back one of these old, weird molded salads?

Read an article last week about how those jello molds are making a comeback with younger cooks. They called it "grandma core" or something like that. Your find sounds exactly like the weird recipes they were talking about!

Nah, those savory molds are a legit vibe. They bring texture and a cool retro look to a table. Calling it just "weird" misses the point of the whole thing.
