Walked past my old shop in Austin and the window was full of fake flowers
It used to be a real flower shop. I worked there for 8 years. Now it's a gift store with plastic roses and silk peonies. They had a big sign that said 'No Watering Needed'. Made me think about how much the craft has shifted. Anyone else see this kind of change in their old neighborhood?

Man that hits hard. It's like they're selling the idea of a flower instead of the real thing. I bet the people who ran your old shop knew every stem by touch, when to cut them, how to make them last. Now it's just shelf life and dusting. Makes the whole street feel less alive somehow.

Remember when we used to say things had soul? Now my houseplants just judge me.
