I used to think flower food packets were just colored sugar
A customer brought in a bouquet from another shop that was still fresh after 8 days, which never happens with our arrangements. She said the other florist told her to use the whole packet and change the water every other day. I tried it myself with a test batch of roses, following those exact steps, and they lasted almost twice as long. Has anyone else tested different flower food routines and seen real results?

Our shop had the same issue with carnations wilting fast. That water change trick is a game changer.

Honestly @grant_gibson, it's such a relief when you find a simple fix like that. Tbh I wasted so many flowers before learning the water trick myself. It really does make all the difference for keeping them fresh.

But honestly I've found it's more about the temperature than just changing the water. Cold water shocks them less and they perk back up way faster than with room temp water changes. Plus you get at least a couple extra days out of them that way.
