Unpopular opinion: the push for click-lock vinyl in every job is getting out of hand
Three years ago, I did a full house in Cincinnati with a glue-down sheet vinyl because the subfloor was a mess of old tile adhesive. It took two days to prep and roll out, but that floor is still flat and quiet today. Last month, a builder in the same area insisted on click-lock LVP for a similar bad subfloor, saying it was 'what sells.' We spent a day trying to shim and level, and you can already hear hollow spots when you walk on it. The product is fine over a perfect floor, but it feels like we're picking the wrong tool for the job just to follow a trend. Has anyone else had to talk a client out of a floating floor when glue-down was the clear better choice?

Totally agree. It's like using a screwdriver to hammer a nail because it's the shiny new tool. Some jobs just need the old school glue down.
