Serious question, has anyone else tried using a heat gun on stubborn vinyl plank seams?
I had a tricky click-lock floor in a 1950s house in Tacoma that just wouldn't sit flat, so I gently warmed the locking edge for about 30 seconds. It softened just enough to click in perfectly without damage. What's your go-to trick for a stubborn seam?

My first attempt with a heat gun ended with a plank that looked like a potato chip, so I'm clearly no expert! It sounds like you had way more control than I did. My go-to trick now is just a rubber mallet and a lot of muttered complaints under my breath. Sometimes a little warmth makes sense if you're really careful, but I learned the hard way to go slow.

Is warping a plank really that big of a deal?
