DAE hate using the knee kicker for carpet stretches?

I used to avoid carpet jobs because stretching was a pain. After forcing myself to learn the knee kicker, I can get tighter fits now. Any tricks to save your knees while doing this?

Feel your pain on the knee ache, it's the worst part of the job. A decent knee pad helps take the edge off the impact. Still hurts, but it's better than nothing.

Focus on keeping your kicks steady instead of using all your strength. In my experience, that cuts down on the shock to your knees over a long day. What specific part of the stretch, like tacking near a wall, feels hardest on your joints? Have you tried shifting your body weight to your other leg between kicks to give each knee a break? I'm curious if changing how you hold the tool makes any difference for you.

My knees are shot after a day of stretching, it's that dull ache that just sets in. The worst part is the constant impact, you can feel it right in the joint every time you hit the kicker. I started favoring my right leg so much it threw my whole back out of whack.
