My neighbor's 5 minute timer changed how I pack lunches
I used to spend 25 minutes every morning scrambling to make lunches for my two kids. Last Tuesday my neighbor saw me in the hallway juggling a bento box and juice pouches. She told me to set a 5 minute timer on my phone and only pack what fits in that window. I laughed at first, but tried it the next day and got it done in 4 minutes flat. Now I lay out the containers the night before and just dump pre-cut fruits and snacks in. Has anyone else tried a hard time limit like that for a morning task? What's your cutoff before you just grab granola bars and call it good?
Oh man, that timer trick is genius and I'm honestly mad I never thought of it myself. My mornings are a sink or swim situation too, and I usually end up throwing cheerios in baggies while yelling at everyone to find their shoes. So what do you do for the kids who refuse to eat what you prepped the night before? Because I swear mine changes their mind about apples versus grapes between bedtime and breakfast, and I'm not about to renegotiate with a three year old before coffee.
