My 6AM alarm was 30 minutes off and I never noticed until my accountant said something

I always set my phone to give myself an extra half hour for coffee before the shop opens. Turns out my phone synced to some weird time zone glitch after a software update, and I was actually stumbling in late twice a week without knowing it. My accountant saw my clock-in logs during a tax review and asked if I was having trouble with attendance. I switched to a cheap analog alarm clock by my bed and now I actually leave the house with time to spare. Anyone else ever get betrayed by their phone's clock settings and not catch it for weeks?

Did you ever think the phone was actually right and your analog clock is the one that's wrong? Clocks drift, you know, and a cheap wind-up one can easily lose a few minutes every day if it's not great quality. Plus, if your phone was syncing to the wrong time zone, that's a software bug, but your accountant only noticed because of the logs, not because customers were complaining or anything. Sounds like you were still getting the job done, just not at the exact minute you thought. Maybe you were actually more relaxed those mornings since you weren't staring at your phone every second. Seems like you found a fix that works, but I bet your phone was still closer to the real time than you think.
