Fixed a leaky toilet flapper and saved $40 on my water bill
My toilet was running constantly for months and I finally got around to swapping the $5 flapper. After that, my next water bill dropped by $40 compared to the same time last year. Anyone else put off simple fixes and then wonder why you waited so long?

See I see it a little different. That $40 you saved is great and all but the real issue is why didn't you fix it sooner? A running toilet can waste like 200 gallons a day and you let it go for months. That's a ton of water just going down the drain and it adds up way more than just the bill. I get being busy or not wanting to deal with it, but a flapper swap takes ten minutes tops. Saving $40 is good but you probably could have saved twice that if you had done it right when it started.

Yeah but look, some of us like living on the edge. Keeps the water meter guessing. Who needs predictability in their life anyway?
