Tried stand developing with Rodinal versus my usual D-76 routine

The Rodinal gave me way sharper grain and held the highlights better on a roll of HP5 pushed to 800. I'm sold on it for high contrast scenes now. Anyone have a favorite dilution for stand developing with 35mm?

My friend swears by 1:100 for an hour.

Honestly, it's just film development. The difference on a small 35mm print is gonna be tiny. Tbh I've done both and my D-76 shots look fine on the wall. People get so deep into the numbers, but it's still the same photo of your cat or a fire hydrant.

Read a blog post that said 1:50 for an hour works great with slower films, gives you that classic Rodinal look without being too harsh. Might be worth a shot if you're testing things out. What film were you using for that test roll?
