Tried developing with tap water vs distilled for my C-41 kit

The tap water batch had weird color shifts, but the distilled one from the grocery store came out perfect. Anyone else find their local water messes with chems?

Yeah, water quality is a total wild card. My old place had such hard water it left a white film on everything, even clean glassware. Sandrah69 is right that a filter might help, but sometimes you just need to cut your losses and buy the jugs. I gave up and switched to distilled for anything mixing with photo chems, not worth the gamble.

You think a filter would fix this, @sandrah69? I tried one of those fancy pitchers and the water still tastes like it came from a rusty pipe. I'm starting to think my whole building's plumbing is just haunted.
