Just wasted $150 on tension bands that were the wrong size for the 3/4 inch round rod I ordered from a different supplier
I bought a bunch of 5/8 inch tension bands without checking the specs first cause I assumed they were universal, now I've got a box of useless hardware sitting in my truck anyone else ever mix up rod sizes and end up eating the cost?

And the real kicker nobody talks about is that even if you get the right size, most tension bands are stamped out of cheap crap metal now. I bought a set that fit perfect but the edges were so sharp they cut right through the vinyl coating on my rod in two months. You gotta check the gauge too, not just the diameter. Anything under 14 gauge is basically a paperweight waiting to fail. Plus those "universal" ones always have sloppy tolerances, like a quarter inch of slop in the bolt hole. Might be worth trying to resell them on Craigslist before you eat the whole loss though.

Makes me wonder if half the hardware aisle nowadays is just designed to fail so you buy again.
