I finally caved and bought a proper post level for the truck

Honestly, it was about $80 and I fought it for years thinking my old torpedo level was fine. Ngl, it cut my post setting time in half on a big cedar fence job last week. Anyone have a different tool that made that big of a difference for them?

My stubbornness cost me YEARS of extra work with a wobbly old level. The upgrade felt like a personal defeat but wow what a difference.

Yeah... I once stuck with a broken office chair for way too long just to prove a point to myself. My back still hurts thinking about it, but hey, I saved like eighty bucks for a solid year of suffering. Pride really does make you do some dumb stuff sometimes.
