A client in Springfield insisted on cedar posts for a chain link fence

I thought it was a total waste of money and told them pressure-treated pine would hold up just fine. But after five years, they sent me a picture and those cedar posts still looked brand new, no rot at the ground line at all. Anyone else had a customer's weird request actually prove you wrong?

That "total waste of money" line is why I just do what they pay for now.

So what do you do when they ask for something small that wasn't on the list? Like a tiny change that would take you five minutes, but it's still extra work.

Yeah, @ward.nathan gets it... that line is a killer. Learned the hard way to just stick to the list they signed off on. Like, if they pay for a basic website, they get the basic site. No extra features unless they open the wallet again. Saves so many headaches when they try to say the "waste of money" thing later.
