The Reason High-Low Hemlines Look Awkward On Most People
This seems like a cut that's made for models on a runway but falls apart in real life. I noticed it a lot at a farmer's market in Austin two weeks ago, where maybe 1 out of 10 people wearing it actually pulled it off. The main issue seems to be the front hem riding up when you move, especially if you have wider hips or a bigger bust. Am I wrong or does this trend need to die?

Designers forgot real life has walking and sitting.

The part about the front hem riding up when you move - that's the real killer. But the angle I don't see anyone talking about is how high-low hemlines mess with your proportions in photos. I was at a backyard barbecue last weekend and a friend wore one, and every candid shot made her legs look like two different lengths because the back hem hit below the knee and the front was way above it. It created this weird optical illusion that was just distracting. Plus if you have a longer torso or shorter legs like I do, the uneven line cuts you in the wrong place and makes you look stumpy. It's like the trend was designed for mannequins that never have to sit down or get photographed from the side.
