Spent an hour in a fabric shop in Pittsburgh and noticed every single person was buying stretch knit, not cotton
Is there some new pattern out that requires it, or did we all just give up on structured clothes for good?

Bet you it's those five minute tops patterns that keep popping up on Pinterest and TikTok. Everyone's chasing that immediate gratification hit where you cut and sew in one afternoon and get a wearable piece. Structured garments take fitting and pressing and actual patience, and stretch knits just forgive all your mistakes lol.

@the_abby you nailed it exactly. I've been saying the same thing - stretch knits hide a multitude of sins but they don't teach you how to actually sew.
