Saw a dress from a 2020 runway show get remade with way less fabric this season, like half the yardage. The silhouette is totally different now.

Honestly, it's just fabric. Designers change shapes all the time, that's their whole job. Tbh I doubt the original designer is losing sleep over it. It's not like they stole the exact print or something. Clothes get reinterpreted every season, it's just how fashion works. Making a big deal out of less yardage seems kinda extra.

So when a contractor uses less wood to build a house, that's just a reinterpretation too, right? Guess I've been doing my job wrong this whole time. Next time I'll just take a blueprint, shrink it, and call it my own fresh take. The logic here is truly something else.

Look, the real issue isn't the yardage difference, it's that she copied the actual design and construction method and just made it smaller. That's not reinterpretation, that's just a scaled-down knockoff. Does anyone else see how that changes things?
