Had to decide between a bold print or a clean silhouette for my final project

I went with the clean silhouette and I'm glad I did, because the judges said the simpler shape let the fabric's texture really stand out. Anyone else ever feel like going simple is actually the harder choice?

Yeah, it's like that with everything now. The plain white t-shirt is the real test of quality, not the loud graphic tee.

Totally get that. I mean, with a bold print you can kind of hide behind the pattern, but a clean line shows every single seam. I had a project last year where I did a simple shift dress, and getting the darts perfect so it didn't look boxy was way harder than any color block thing I've tried. The judges are right though, it forces you to make the construction and material the whole point.

My first shift dress taught me the same hard lesson.
