Finally got the drape right on my asymmetrical skirt after 3 failed muslins by cutting the pattern on the bias.

Has anyone else found that a simple bias cut can fix a stubborn drape issue?

Bias cutting was a game changer for a linen dress that just hung wrong. The fabric fell into these soft folds instead of fighting the seams. Sometimes you just have to let the grain do the work, right?

Guess @abbyl49 finally let the fabric win the fight for once.

My friend Sarah had this linen blazer that fought her for months. She tried everything, even steamed the heck out of it, but it just hung there all stiff and weird. Then she heard about bias cutting and gave it a shot on a simple wrap dress. Said it was like the fabric finally took a breath and relaxed into shape. Now she swears by it for anything drapey.
