Why all the sudden interest in hoof x-rays?
Seeing more x-ray requests. Clients read about it on websites. How are you dealing with this?

Seems like clients are reading more blog posts and coming in with printouts. Honestly, it's a mixed bag because while it's good they're engaged, not every lame horse needs a radiograph right away. The tricky part is explaining why we might want to feel for a pulse or watch them move first before jumping to x-rays. Sometimes the best tool is still a good hands-on exam, you know? How do you explain that choice to an insistent client?

Tell me about it. I usually say something like, "The x-ray shows the bones, but it's a still picture. I need to check how everything is moving and feeling first to know where to even point the camera." Framing it as building a roadmap before you take the picture seems to help them get why order matters.
