I thought those new composite pads were just a gimmick until a client insisted on them

A regular client in Bend, Oregon, asked me to put them on her two trail horses last fall. I was sure they'd crack in the cold or wear out fast. After six months of rough terrain, I pulled the shoes and the pads looked almost new, no packing issues at all. Has anyone else had a good run with these, or did I just get lucky?

Had the same doubt but they held up great on a ranch horse through our muddy spring.

My old boots lasted through three seasons of that.

Guess I'm eating my words about them being a gimmick.
