Finally got the hoof angle right on a tricky quarter crack case
I had this one mare in from a ranch outside Billings that kept splitting her quarter no matter what the last guy did. Spent three visits just watching her land and finally realized the toe was way too long, making the heel take all the pressure. Once I trimmed back to a 50 degree angle on that front foot, the crack stopped opening up after two shoeing cycles. Anybody else have a stubborn quarter crack that turned out to be a simple angle fix?

Buddy of mine fought one for months before finding the exact same fix.

3 weeks into that fight and my buddy still couldn't figure out why his fix kept breaking. @kim.stella's buddy must have been doing something different because most people I know hit a wall with that same issue way quicker. The trick your friend found might just be a bandaid if the underlying problem isn't software related. I'd bet money the root cause is something else entirely, like a bad capacitor or a loose ground wire.

Yeah one of my buddies spent a whole weekend chasing his tail on that same thing. He finally just gave up and started swapping parts one by one until it worked. @richard_ramirez is probably right about the capacitor though, that's what ended up being the issue for him.
