My grandma's meatloaf recipe sounded boring until I actually tried it last Tuesday

I always thought her recipe was too simple, just ketchup, onion, and some breadcrumbs. But I made it exactly as written for a family dinner and everyone asked for seconds. The trick was she used a specific ratio of meats, half beef and half pork, which I'd never done before. Has anyone else had a recipe from a relative that seemed too basic but turned out amazing?

Dude yes, "the meat combo is the real game changer" 100%. My aunt's chili recipe always seemed too basic, like just ground beef and beans, but it turns out she mixed in some ground sausage and that was the whole secret.

Yeah the meat combo is the real game changer there.

Why does everything good always come in a combo but the rest of life is just one thing at a time?
