Just hit 50 handwritten recipe cards from my grandma and it hit me hard
Honestly, I was just trying to sort through this old tin box from her kitchen, you know? I figured there were maybe 20 cards in there, tops. But I kept pulling them out, each one in her shaky cursive, and I finally counted them all. Fifty. Fifty recipes, from her Sunday pot roast with the exact amount of black pepper she swore by, to the lemon pound cake she only made for funerals. Tbh, it's not just the number. It's that I remember her making every single one of these things in her little house in Akron. Now I'm sitting here with a stack of cards and this huge wave of feeling, because I realize I'm the only one in the family who has them all. Has anyone else gotten hit with a moment like this, where a simple count turns into something way bigger?

Only one in the family who has them all" is the good part though. That's not a sad weight, it's a special job. You get to be the keeper of the Sunday pot roast.

Are you going to try making any of them soon? That first one you cook from the box is going to be a whole other level of feeling. Which recipe feels like the right one to start with?
