My great-grandpa's pocket watch stopped for good on Tuesday.

It was running fine, then just quit. I opened the back and the mainspring is snapped clean through. Anyone know a good person in Cincinnati who works on these old 1920s pieces?

Oh man, that's a real shame.

I mean, the worst part is they had a whole year to fix it. It just feels like a total waste of everyone's time now. Maybe it's just me but that's what really gets me.

Kind of weird that it just snapped out of nowhere, maybe there's a reason it quit like that. Maybe it's just me but a clean break like that in a 100 year old watch could mean it was due for a full overhaul anyway. Repairing it could actually bring it back to better condition than it was in before.
