My steamer gave out mid-facial on a Saturday morning
The unit just shut off halfway through a 90-minute treatment. It was a 3-year-old model I bought from a local supplier. I had to finish with hot towels, which wasn't the same. Some people say to always have a backup device ready to go. Others think that's a waste of money if your main gear is reliable. What's your emergency plan for equipment failure?

Ugh that's the worst feeling lol. My old facial steamer did the exact same thing during a busy Saturday last year, just died with a client in the chair. Had to scramble with the hot towel cabinet too and it totally throws off your rhythm. Now I keep my even older, kinda janky one in the back closet just in case. It steams unevenly but it's better than nothing in a pinch.

Why do steamers always quit at the worst possible time? It's like they know when you're already stressed and decide to add to the chaos. At least your backup plan sounds better than trying to explain to a client why their face is only half steamed.

My friend's steamer died mid-facial too, total nightmare before she got a backup.
