I used to steam every single client's face for 10 minutes straight... now I barely touch the steamer unless it's for a specific extraction.

Remember when EVERY facial started with that steamer hissing for what felt like forever? Ten whole minutes is an eternity on someone's skin. I can't imagine doing that now, it sounds so harsh and drying. My old boss was stuck in that routine too, and we'd see clients with red, angry skin walking out. The shift makes total sense.

lol @lee_ward54 you brought back some serious flashbacks. that steamer hiss was basically the soundtrack to every facial back then, right? i swear it felt like we were trying to steam a potato for dinner, not treat someone's face. ten minutes of that hot air just beating down on you, no wonder people left looking like tomatoes. i still see estheticians online swearing by long steaming sessions and im just like, your poor clients moisture barrier must be screaming. glad we figured out that less is more, because that old routine was basically just throwing money at irritation.
