I finally snapped at a client who insisted her 'DIY turmeric mask' was better than a professional chemical peel for hyperpigmentation.
After she came in with a bright orange stain all over her face (and neck, honestly) that took two double-cleanses to even start fading, I had to explain that kitchen ingredients don't have the controlled pH or penetration of clinical-grade acids.

That turmeric stain is no joke. I had a cousin who tried a DIY recipe and looked like she got in a fight with a highlighter for three days straight. People forget that just because you can eat something doesn't mean you should slather it all over your face. There's a reason professionals use specific stuff that's actually made for skin.
