Back when I started, I had to pick between waxing and sugaring for my main hair removal service.

I was working out of a small room in a shared salon in Austin and could only afford to stock up on one system. I went with hard wax because the startup cost was about $300 less for the warmer and beads. It worked out fine for a while, but I always wondered about the other option. Anyone else make a choice like that early on and stick with it for years?

Wait, your startup cost difference was three hundred dollars? How is that even possible? I priced out both systems last year and the warmers were basically the same. Were you looking at some huge commercial wax pot or something? That price gap seems wild to me.

Did you include the cost of the wax itself in your total? The warmers were close, but the bulk wax for the hard system was way more expensive per pound for me. That's where most of the difference came from.
