Why does nobody talk about the difference a proper QoS policy makes on a VoIP rollout?
We rolled out a new VoIP system to 300 users last quarter and call quality complaints were through the roof. After we finally set up a dedicated QoS policy on our core switches to prioritize that traffic, packet loss dropped from 15% to under 1% in a week. Has anyone else seen a jump this big just from tweaking QoS settings?

Man, that's just like people ignoring basic maintenance until things break.

Honestly QoS is overrated these days. Modern networks have so much bandwidth it shouldn't matter. Sounds like you had other problems that just got fixed by accident.

Totally saw the same thing at my last place. Blairf48 might have a point about extra bandwidth, but QoS was the only thing that fixed our garbled calls. Night and day difference once we set it up right.
