Dropped $600 on a used Catalyst 3850 switch off eBay and it showed up with a bad power supply

Had to spend another $150 on a replacement PSU and wait 4 days for shipping, anyone else ever get burned buying network gear from random sellers online?

Wait that's really not that bad. Could've been DOA or fried from a bad firmware flash. Spend $150 and learn a lesson about checking seller reviews more carefully next time.

So you're saying $150 down the drain is "not that bad"? Come on @hall.quinn, that's a full day's pay for a lot of people. You make it sound like a $5 mistake. And what's this about a lesson in checking seller reviews? The whole point of buying used is to save money, not to pay for someone else's junk. If the seller had bad reviews to begin with, why would anyone risk it in the first place? Seems like you're just making excuses for a bad deal. Either the part works or it doesn't, and this one clearly didn't.
