Customer said PoE injectors work the same as a proper switch, that cost me 2 hours of my life

So I had this client last week in Nashville who insisted I just put PoE injectors on a couple of cameras instead of running a new cable back to the switch. They swore their IT guy said it was the same thing and way cheaper. I told them it would be a mess but they paid me so I did it. Fast forward 2 hours later and the injectors kept dying after 20 minutes because they were pulling too much power on a daisy chain. Now I gotta go back tomorrow and rip it all out and do it right. Has anyone else had a client fight you on basic networking stuff like this?

Blame the client for trusting a bad IT guy, not the injectors themselves.

Isn't this just blaming the victim for getting scammed though? Feels like a stretch to say the client should've known better.
