Compared ProCurve vs Cisco for a campus refresh in Phoenix
Was leaning Cisco until I ran the numbers for 48-port switches across 15 closets and the ProCurve came in $12k less with lifetime warranties. Anyone else find HP switches hold up just as well in production?

Did you actually test the lifetime warranty claim or just take their word for it?

Oh, I took their word for it. I just assumed "lifetime warranty" meant my lifetime, not the product's lifetime. Turns out it was the lifetime of a gnat. Should have tested it when I bought the thing ten years ago.
