Tried using a zip tie as a temporary door hanger and it did not go well
Had a call for a sticky door on a Schindler 3300 last Tuesday, and my usual hanger clip was missing. Grabbed a heavy duty zip tie from the truck, thinking I could loop it through the roller bracket just to hold things for a minute. The second I took the weight off, the tie snapped and the door dropped about six inches with a huge bang. The building manager came running out of his office looking like he'd seen a ghost. Learned that even the thickest zip tie is no match for a 200 pound door assembly. Anyone have a good trick for a real emergency hanger when you're in a pinch?

Honestly... I don't see the big deal. A heavy duty zip tie should have held for a second if you looped it right. Maybe it was a cheap brand or had a nick in it already. People act like everything needs the perfect tool every single time, but sometimes you just gotta make do with what's in the truck. That door dropping a few inches isn't the end of the world, it just makes a loud noise. The building manager will get over it.
