TIL a loose belt took down a whole hospital elevator bank
Last Tuesday I got called to a three car hospital job where all units were stuck on different floors. Turned out one loose governor belt on the machine room side was throwing off the sync on all three controllers. Has anyone else had a single part take out a whole bank like that?

Three units down from one belt sounds like a sync issue I haven't seen before.

Oh man, that reminds me of a buddy of mine who ran a small shop and had a whole line go down because one sensor was just slightly out of alignment. He spent three days tearing his hair out thinking it was software or a bad controller board. Turned out a dust bunny had built up on the sensor lens just enough to throw the timing off by a hair. Cleaned it with a q-tip and everything was back to normal, it was that simple. It's always the dumb stuff that gets you, you know?
