My neighbor said his building's elevator 'just needed a reset' after a fault code

He described a specific 3100 series controller fault, and the super just cycled the power. That made me think about how often we see that as a quick fix masking a bigger issue. Ever had a callback where a simple reset just delayed the real repair?

Saw that exact fault last month. Ended up replacing a bad hall sensor after the reset just bought us a week.

That one week delay before the sensor fully failed is a classic symptom. Was it a gradual drop in signal strength or did it just cut out completely after the reset? I've seen both on different motor types.

Saw that too with a small servo motor I was testing. Did you notice any weird temperature spikes on the controller before it dropped out completely? Always curious if that's a tell or just coincidence.
