Just logged my 200th call for a specific Otis Gen2 door operator fault

I hit 200 service calls logged for the same Otis Gen2 door operator fault code, E3-2101, in the last year. That number is way too high for what should be a simple sensor alignment issue. Every single one was in a building under 10 years old, and the fix was always the same: realign the door zone sensor and reset the controller. It matters because it points to a systemic install or calibration problem that's not being caught during commissioning. We're getting called back for the same easy fix over and over, which burns our time and annoys the building owners. I'm starting to think the factory calibration specs for that sensor bracket are off, or the install crews are rushing. Has anyone else seen a crazy repeat rate on a specific fault like this, and did you find a root cause?

Wait, isn't E3-2101 the door lock zone fault, not the sensor?

Yeah but if the door lock zone is throwing that code, what's actually triggering it? Could still be a bad sensor telling the system the door is open when it's not.
