Finding my dad's hand-drawn elevator schematics in the attic

Tbh, I was cleaning out the attic last week and found a bunch of my dad's old drawings. He was an elevator mechanic in the 80s, and his schematics were all done by hand. Now, everything is on a computer, and it's just not the same. I've been trying to redraw them digitally as a side project, and it's crazy how much detail he put in. Honestly, it makes me appreciate the craft even more.

The detail he put in reminds me of how older draftsmen said precision was everything in those hand-drawn blueprints.

Modern apps make me miss that exactness raymartin mentioned.

Yeah that line about precision being everything hits hard. I mean you can see it in old engineering drawings where every single line had weight and purpose. It feels like a different kind of care compared to just zooming in on a vector file.
