Most repair guides online skip the easy stuff and it bugs me
I watch a lot of repair videos... and they always jump to swapping out big parts first. Like, a tutorial for a dead monitor said to replace the whole board... but it was just a bad capacitor. I fixed three this month with a five-cent part... because I checked the simple things. People follow these guides and waste time and money. We should push for more focus on basic checks like connections and fuses. It helps new folks learn better and keeps old gear alive. Honestly, it's lazy to not start with the easy fixes...

Ugh, this hits on something I see EVERYWHERE now. It's not just repair guides, it's like everything is set up to make you replace the whole thing instead of fixing the small problem. My coffee maker acted up last week and the first search result said "buy new model" when it just needed a good cleaning. Feels like we're pushed to waste stuff and miss the simple solutions that actually teach you how things work.

iFixit's guide required a $50 tool I didn't own.
