Checked out the vintage radio exhibit at the county fair and the wiring was a mess
They had a 1950s console with about 30 feet of crumbling cloth-covered wire spliced together. Anyone know a good source for period-correct replacement wire that's actually safe?

I saw a forum thread about that "period-correct replacement wire" and a few people mentioned Antique Electronic Supply.

Yeah, that "period-correct replacement wire" hunt is a real pain. I spent weeks trying to find the right cloth-covered stuff for an old radio. Antique Electronic Supply did have some options that matched the look. It's just such a niche thing to track down.

Actually, Antique Electronic Supply was sold to another company back in 2020 and they don't carry the same inventory they used to. Most of the cloth-covered wire they had is gone now, which is a real shame. I'd check with Radio Daze or even some vintage audio restoration shops for a better chance at the real thing.
