Why does nobody talk about using a stud finder for EMT straps?

I spent 20 minutes on a job in Austin last week drilling into drywall anchors that kept failing. Finally grabbed my stud finder from my car and hit every strap into a stud in under 5 minutes. Has anyone else found weird cross-trade tools that save your back on commercial finish work?

Yo have you tried using a magnetic stud finder instead of the electric ones? I heard a buddy say the magnets can pick up the nails in the studs way better on older builds where the drywall is thicker. He swears by it for hanging heavy shit like TV mounts. Might save you even more time if you're doing a bunch of straps in a row.

Wait, hold up. You're telling me there's a magnet tool that just finds the nails? That's wild. I've been using those electronic ones for years and they always act up on my house built in the 60s. The drywall is like an inch thick in some spots. A simple magnet would totally skip all that goofy calibration. I gotta try that for my next project, that sounds way too simple to actually work.
