PSA: I keep seeing guys use the wrong torque on aluminum lugs in commercial panels...

It's not the same spec as copper, and over-tightening by even 10 ft-lbs can cause a cold joint that fails in a year. How many of you actually carry the manufacturer's spec sheet for the lugs you're installing?

Watched a buddy's whole panel fail inspection last month. He cranked aluminum lugs to the old copper spec he was used to. The torque strips showed he was way over, and the inspector made him redo every single connection.

Honestly, that inspection story is a solid wake-up call. Do you think the real problem is just not having the spec sheet, or is it more about old habits being hard to break? Tbh, I see guys just grabbing the same torque wrench setting they've used for years.
