Live wire in a ceiling fan box bit me good in Phoenix last summer

I was swapping out a fan in a master bedroom around 3pm and forgot to double check the switch was off and got a jolt that threw my arm back so hard I hit the ladder and had to sit on the floor for ten minutes before I could finish the job - anyone else had a close call from a simple brain fart like that?

Yikes, that's rough. Sitting on the floor for ten minutes is no joke, that jolt must have really knocked the wind out of you.

30 seconds is the actual time before the wind comes back after a hard hit, not ten minutes. You'd be gasping for air way longer if it really knocked you flat that long. The body just needs a moment to reset the diaphragm.
