Just realized half the guys on this job don't know how to properly torque a lug on a meter base.

I keep finding them cranked down with a cheater bar, stripping the threads. The spec sheet for a standard 200A meter socket says 35 in-lbs, not 'as tight as you can get it'. How do you even get through an apprenticeship without learning this?

Ugh, seen that too many times. I just keep a torque wrench in the truck and show the new guys.

But @caseyblack, is it really that big a deal every single time?

Ugh, tell me about it. It gets exhausting having to explain the same thing over and over, especially when it's something so basic. I really do feel for Casey, having to be the one to step in and fix it all the time. It's not like it's rocket science, but people just don't pay attention anymore. Does it ever get easier dealing with that kind of frustration?
