That concrete curing time tip I overheard at Rona saved my driveway pour
I was at the Rona on 137 Ave last weekend and heard a contractor tell a newbie to keep the slab wet for a full 7 days, not just 3. I always cut it short at 4 days and ended up with hairline cracks, so I tried it on my 10x20 driveway apron and it came out smooth as glass. Anyone else got a random overheard tip that actually worked?

Seems like a lot of extra work for a driveway that's just gonna get driven on anyway. I've done 3-4 days on a few smaller slabs and they've held up fine for years.

Man I feel this in my bones. I once spent like two whole weekends on a little pad for my grill, measuring and leveling and tamping every six inches like some kind of maniac. Then my buddy shows up, pours a slab in an afternoon with no gravel base, and its still sitting there perfect five years later. Makes me wonder if all that extra fuss is just me being paranoid or maybe I just like having an excuse to mess around with tools and not do actual yard work.
