Just realized I hit the 50 roof repair milestone in one season and it caught me off guard
I've been running my roofing company here in Edmonton for about 3 years, and this summer I hit 50 separate repair jobs before October hit. It surprised me because I figured most people would just replace whole sections instead of patching things up. Has anyone else noticed more people choosing repairs over full replacements lately?

Oh man, 50 repairs in one season is wild. I know a few folks in Calgary who say they're patching more roofs too because the price of full shingles just keeps climbing. People seem to be stretching everything lately, from car tires to their roofs.

Has anyone tried going with a lower-grade shingle just to save cash and seen how it holds up in a Calgary winter? In my experience, the cheaper stuff can crack faster in our freeze-thaw cycles, so patching might actually cost you more in the long run. Your mileage may vary, but I'd rather spend a bit extra upfront than chase leaks every spring.
