Remember when the Edmonton chat was just a single IRC channel?
People keep saying it's always been a bunch of separate forums, but I was there in 2008 and it was #yeg on freenode. That central spot made it feel like a real community. Anyone else from those early days still around?

Miss that shared chaos where you'd bump into the same people every day.

Man, those were the days. The single channel was a total mess but it was OUR beautiful mess. Now it's all split up and you need a map just to find a conversation. Feels like the soul of the place got lost in a dozen different tabs.
